Al Ramsay, BSc (PE)’52

As one of six people to be inducted into the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Hall of Fame this August, Al Ramsay is being honoured as the longest tenured volunteer and executive in Australian sports and basketball.  Ramsay is the founder and honorary Life President of the Oceania Basketball Confederation, and author of Dunked – Australian Basketball Revealed, a 300-page book dealing with the history of basketball in Australia. In 2006, the Australian Basketball Hall of Fame updated Ramsay’s status to Legend, the first time such a status was bestowed.
