Parents

On move-in weekend in August 2009, the McGill Parents Association hosted our annual Parents Tent at the downtown campus.   With booths from various service providers at McGill, the objective of Parents Tent is to give McGill Parents all the information they need to ensure their students are taken care of at McGill.

This year’s parents tent gave parents and students information on:

- Network and Communications Services (NCS)

- Campus Security

- The McGill Bookstore

- McGill Athletics and Recreation Department

- Student Accounts

- Career Planning Services

- Health Services

- Student Organization for Alumni Relations

- Student Society of McGill University

- Student Phonathon

- Rez Voice and Data Services (under NCS)

- Student Health Insurance (ASEQ)

This year we interviewed some of the McGill faculty, administration, and volunteers so that we could provide information to parents who weren’t at the event. The McGill Virtual Parents Tent is a series of videos with all of the vendors at the 2009 Parents Tent. We’ve provided links, phone numbers, and helpful hints to help you and your family become better acquainted with the University and some of the many helpful services McGill offers.

If you have any questions about the 2009 Parents Tent, please email us at parents.association@mcgill.ca

Thanks, and we hope to see you at next year’s Parents Tent!
