The University of Windsor Lancers, led by head coach Chantal Vallée, MA’02, captured their first national CIS women’s basketball title on March 20.
Before Vallée took the reins just six years ago, the team had produced only a handful of winning seasons over its four decade history. Now the Lancers have appeared in the national championship final two years in a row.
Interestingly, while at McGill, Vallée wrote her thesis on how to turn a struggling team into a national contender.
