Noah and Rae Bernamoff’s (née Rachel Cohen) Mile End Cookbook was recently published by Random House.
The book is filled with recipes from their Brooklyn eatery, Mile End Delicatessen.
The restaurant itself is an edible homage to Mile End, a small neighbourhood just north-west of downtown Montreal. Specialties include Jewish comfort food and Montreal-style smoked meat.
Bernamoff and Cohen met while studying at McGill, then moved to New York. A few short years later, they opened their restaurant, which has been rated as New York’s best deli by both New York Magazine and Zagat.
