The Celebrating Students series provides a snapshot of McGill Mastercard Student Sponsorship recipients. The Student Sponsorship Program was launched in 1997 to give students who are involved with special campus groups or clubs an opportunity to apply for additional funding for projects carried out by their groups.

Today, the Alumni Association features the Society of Linguistics McCLU conference:

McGill’s Canadian Conference for Linguistics Undergraduates 2012 has been a wonderful opportunity for undergraduates around the world to present their original research and meet other like-minded people ever since the inaugural conference five years ago.

With six presenters from McGill, in addition to presenters from seven other Canadian and North American universities, this year’s McCCLU raised the bar even higher! We had 15 presentations of exciting original research, covering diverse fields from syntax to sociolinguistics. We were pleased to have Dr. Luis Fernando Alonso-Ovalle and Dr. Jessica Coon give our opening and closing keynote speeches.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed their time and resources to McCCLU 2012. This conference would not have been possible without the help of all of the following people.
