CORRIE BROWN, BSc’73

Corrie Brown, BSc’73, is the recipient of the American Veterinary Medical Association’s 2013 XIIth International Veterinary Congress Prize, an award recognizing her contribution to veterinary medicine.

Brown has worked for over 25 years to build animal health infrastructure and diagnostics, conducting workshops in more than 30 countries. After a brief tenure as an assistant professor of pathology at Louisiana State University, she took a post as head of the Pathology Section of the U.S. Department of Agriculture at Plum Island.

Brown currently serves as a professor of veterinary pathology at the College of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Georgia, which she joined in 1996.
