Mark Slutsky, BA’00, is the director of a short film set to screen on Sesame Street early next year.
The Montreal-based filmmaker landed the spot by way of a pitch session in Toronto last spring. Sesame Street’s producers were in search of shorts exploring the number 1 or the letter L. Slutsky’s film on the former – created with the help of animator Stephen Evans – will air on the iconic children’s show in February. He plans to toast the occasion with cookies and milk.
Slutsky’s other credits include writing the 2010 feature Peepers and writing and directing Sorry, Rabbi, a 2011 short. He previously served as film editor of the weekly Montreal Mirror.
