Chris Barillaro, BA’10, is the musical director of Ain’t Misbehavin’ – The Fats Waller Musical Show, which is set to premiere at Montreal’s Segal Centre this month.
The musical – written by Murray Horwitz and Richard Maltby, Jr., first produced in 1978, and the winner of three Tony Awards – pays tribute Thomas Wright “Fats” Waller, an influential jazz pianist of the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s and ‘30s. It takes its name from one of his best-known songs.
Barillaro has served as musical director of productions of The Music Man, Cabaret and Chicago, among other musicals. He has also appeared in plays including As You Like It and The Jazz Singer.
Ain’t Misbehavin’ begins its three-week run at the Segal Centre on Sunday, September 29.
