Alumni Update

MARC LADANYI, MDCM’84

Marc Ladanyi, MDCM’84, received the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Distinguished Patient Care Award.

The award recognizes Ladanyi’s service as a co-chair of the CAP Pathology and Laboratory Quality Center expert panel, which developed the “Molecular Testing Guideline for Selection of Lung Cancer Patients for EGFR and ALK Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors,” a set of recommendations created to treat patients with advanced lung cancer more effectively. The guidelines were published earlier this year in Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, the Journal of Molecular Diagnostics and the Journal of Thoracic Oncology.

Ladanyi is an attending pathologist in the Molecular Diagnostics Service at New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, as well as a co-director of the hospital’s Genome Data Analysis Center.
