Statement of adherence to privacy legislation
In accordance with its obligations under Quebec privacy laws, McGill’s Development and Alumni Relations Office (DAR) adheres to strict rules in the collection, use, and transmission of nominative information relating to McGill’s graduates and other constituents.
Such information can only be collected in order to advance the University’s mission or some other aspects of its operations; and only with the consent of the individual involved. As well, DAR cannot disclose such information to parties outside the University without the consent of the individual graduate or friend. Disclosure to other units in the University is also subject to restrictions.
Information maintained by DAR may never be used for non-University related commercial activities or for political purposes.
