When we invited Daniel Seligman, BA'00, Founder and Creative Director of POP Montreal to speak to graduating students and recent graduates at Backpack to Briefcase 2013, we didn't really know what to expect. B2B (as it's commonly known) is the annual life skills workshop and lecture series designed to help prepare students and recent grads for life after McGill. However, Dan started his prepared remarks by letting us know that he's more of a "hoodie" than a "briefcase" guy. Over the course of the evening, Dan went on to share his career story and some of the key lessons learned.

On November 16, 2012, the 12th Annual CASCO Dance & Fashion Show was held at Montreal’s L’Astral Theatre. The show is an event that students look forward to all semester, and this year’s edition certainly exceeded their expectations. From the comedic MCs to the enthusiastic performances enjoyed by the audience, all of the elements came together perfectly to create a wonderful evening of entertainment and charity.

When I first got an offer to join President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, I was both excited and anxious. Although I was a fanatical viewer of The West Wing and had made a number of class announcements in Leacock 132 during my student politician days, I didn’t know what to expect. My mind shifted through the possibilities. Would I be writing speeches? Would I be answering questions about the opponent’s latest gaffe in an MSNBC interview? Maybe I could help clean the Lincoln Bedroom.

In his own words, "I believe that being an international student and having to readjust my whole way of life to assimilate into North American society was one of the greatest benefits of attending McGill.
