Sunday, Oct 21, saw hundreds of runners and walkers turn out for the Tour des Trois Sommets Brébeuf, a twisty-turny trail run over hill and vale for distances ranging from five to 40 kilometres. A fair number of these runners were decked out in EWB’s signature bright orange tech shirts.

Whilst a student at The University of York, England, where I was one of only 9,400 undergraduates, the chances of seeing a familiar face whether out shopping or on a night out in one of the city’s many pubs, was fairly high. In fact, part of the appeal of York was that in a city so small and quaint, there’d never be an opportunity to get lost in the crowd; I was part of the York community and that filled me with pride.

We are happy to announce a new Seeds of Change project! The Faculty of Dentistry’s Outreach Program has joined our roster of worthwhile projects. The Outreach Program runs a mobile clinic that travels out to local communities to provide free dental care to patients who normally wouldn’t be able to afford treatment.

We’ve reached our goal – Class Action 2011 has raised $13,000! That amount pays for the cost of the mobile water kiosk that dispenses purified municipal water, which the Office of Sustainability so nicely purchased for us even before all the funds were raised. That way we could have it in time for Convocation.
